Believe it or not, I never grew up thinking I would be raising goats. However, God knows us better than we know ourselves, and once I was introduced to the Nigerian Dwarf breed for the first time, I was in love. Since then, my goats have been one of my passions in life. They are my babies, my good friends, and one of the most amazing creatures I have had the blessed pleasure to own and keep! I have been raising Nigerians since 2019. I raise my small herd in sunny Northern Arizona. I also proudly participate with my herd in DHI testing since 2023. With each generation of kids, I am striving to produce good quality, personable goats with sound milk production/conformation that can last for a long time (and, of course, fun colors! :) ). I also value kidding ease/mothering ability very highly, and will only use does who have these traits in my program. My hope is that my goats are not only a blessing to me and my family, but also to the herds/families they or their offspring find themselves in too. My Goats are raised naturally/holistically. They are fed quality Grass hay, supplemented by chaffhay, BOSS, and organic grain/alfalfa pellets. I do not give vaccines or chemical dewormers. I use Fir Meadow Dewormer herbal powder, mixed with other herbal mixes to keep their bodies in great condition. I keep their pens regularly cleaned, and my mature bucks are shaved once a year to keep cooler, and cut down on the mess/smell. :) They have fresh, clean water and minerals available free-choice at all times. I am a firm believer that good nutrition and a clean environment, as well as keeping my goats immune systems strong naturally, will go a much longer way to have a healthy herd than using pharmaceuticals/vaccines will. My goats are raised with lots of human attention and love, and are handled often.
